Hi, my name is Chloe Silver, and I am a 10 year old fourth
grader in the Mount Vernon School District.
I have decided to donate my birthday to kids with cancer at Children’s
Hospital in Seattle. You see, I am
inspired by kids with Cancer who are not allowed to have the “normal” life that
I have been blessed with. I have
everything I need so that is why I have chosen to raise money to help them
with their medical treatment that they need to get back to their life before
cancer.
I was inspired by a story that I heard last year from a guest speaker that came to my church. He told me about a girl named Rachel Beckwith who decided to give up her 9th birthday to raise money for fresh drinking water wells in Africa. He said Rachel wanted to raise $300.00 and when she was $80.00 short of her goal she was in a really bad car accident. Well the night before he told that story, Rachel went to live with Jesus.
I knew at that moment I wanted to give up my birthday for kids with Cancer. I thought about it for a long time and decided it was the right thing to do. I explained to my mom what I wanted to do and I told her that I was a little scared because I didn’t know if I was ready to die yet. I thought that in order to give up my birthday that I would have to die like Rachel did. My mom told me that it doesn’t work that way but what I realized is if Jesus is ready for me to go live with Him, then I am ready to go.
So would you please help me help my friends at Children’s Hospital? For my birthday month (October) all of the money that I receive will be donated to the Cancer division at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. I would love it if you would help me! I have a goal of $1000.00. So if you want to help please make checks/money orders payable to: Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation.
You can contact my mom Jamie for more information at coinsforchloe@yahoo.com.
Thank you!
